Global registrations of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids rose by 7% year-on-year in June, reaching 2 million units. This marks the fourth consecutive month of increasing demand, primarily driven by a surge in Europe, where registrations grew by 31% to 530,000 units, setting a record for June. For the first half of the year, global registrations of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles increased by 2%. Meanwhile, in China, registrations fell by 11% to around 1 million vehicles, and in North America, the decline was 13%, attributed to the expiration of tax incentives for electric vehicles in the U.S. In Ukraine, demand for electric vehicles halved, dropping from 15,221 units in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025.
